What are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are sent to your browser from the website that you visit. A cookie will typically contain the name of the domain from which the cookie has come, the “lifetime” of the cookie, and a value, usually a randomly generated unique number. Cookies can help a website to arrange content to match your preferred interests more quickly. Most major websites use cookies.

A session cookie is a piece of text that is stored temporarily in your computer’s RAM. And it is deleted when you close your internet browser. Cookies cannot be used by themselves to identify you. A cookie cannot read data off your hard disk, read cookie files created by other websites or damage your system.

What types of cookies are used with this site?

All cookies used on this website are sessional based on the .NET infrastructure. Separate cookies are generated for each session and we do not record them. The only thing each cookie tracks is the session you are on, i.e. are you logged in as and who you have logged in as.

The cookie used tracks you when you are on the same session and when you request the next page. Once you log out the session ends and the cookie is not used again.

The cookies are not tailed by unique user and we do not use this information to track activity. A new cookie is uploaded for each session at sign in and is not stored on a PC.

No ‘setting led’ cookies are used to inform what to load for a user. User profile information is driven by their user group and other selection (e.g. talent profile) and not cookies.

If you are concerned about the potential use of information gathered from your computer by cookies, you can set your browser to prompt you before it accepts a cookie. Most Internet browsers have settings that let you identify and/or reject cookies.
